Have you ever carried on a cat?

I know there are carrier size regulations. I'm just wondering if it makes sense to carry on a cat though. I think my cat would annoy me.

But I would feel better seeing him and knowing he's ok.

I really did not know that you could carry a cat on to an airplane. I would feel better knowing that my cat is okay, but I think that it would be a bit rude, because some people are allergic to cats on the plane.
