Do you still expense things at work if you forget a receipt?

The clever thing to do is to always buy things by card. Most places/people that accept cash donīt like giving a receipt anyway or may be hardly literate (depending on where your trip is to). If you have a card given by your company, even better. It can also reduce admin, as some card statements can be linked to an accounting package.

This is not practical most of the time, though it is a good tip.

The smart move to make would be to always go shopping through card. The majority of places/people that accept money donīt such as providing a receipt anyhow or may be hardly literate (depending on where your trip is to). If you have a card provided by your organization, better still. Additionally, it may reduce admin, as a few card claims could be associated with a cpa bundle.
