I recently returned from the Galapagos aboard the Estrella de Mar with the Eagle Ray
Dive Club. I just want to say that what a great trip! We were promised whale sharks
and we saw, along with numerous other large animals. The crew, Capt Dan, Juan,
Tito, Abel Guido, Gonzolo, Miguel, German and of course our guides Peter and Natasha
were very accommodating when we had to make the transition from land to the boat.
It’s always hectic settling in, that’s with every trip especially when there are 16
of us. I know that Estrella del Mar is a Galasam International´s yacht.
I had some issues one being not enough outlets for the camera batteries, came up
from the dive and there were additional outlets. The food was excellent I loved the
variety of the menu, my only issue the was that I like bacon well done, Chef Abel
took care of that for me. As far as our cabin, the a/c went out and the window
became loose during a crossing. We notified the crew and they responded right and
way and remedied both problems.
I was the one who need the O2 and all I have to say is that Peter, the Crew and my
dive mates were very attentive. Peter stayed with me well into the night and so did
my friends, a paramedic and surgical nurse. I woke the next morning feeling fine,
and found out that the Crew was standing by in case I needed mouth to mouth.☺ I was
told that the first O2 tank was empty, so maybe that should be addressed for future
trips. Needless to say my diving was over, but I was okay, but I was still in the
Galapagos.
As far as out dive master, Peter and Natasha they were great we saw everything they
promised. Peter briefings we informative and animated and he made us laugh.
Natasha is sweet I gave her my info and hopefully I will hear from her. Peter was
our dive guide and I think that we have made a friend for life.
Since this was my second trip to the Galapagos, I probably won’t be back for a while
but if I had to I would go on the Estrella Del Mar. This time I would keep my mouth
shut while boarding the panga. ☺ All I have to say is that this was another great
trip of my lifetime.
Thank you
