It can be said that Cyclo is a symbol of Hue which is so closely associated with everyday life in Hue both in the past (very long time ago) and until now...
Actually, taking a cyclo around is one of the best ways to EXPLORE POETIC HUE IN A VERY UNIQUE VIETNAMESE MANNER. Especially the Citadel, since only bicycles, motorbikes and cyclos are allowed inside.
Tourists will enjoy a cyclo because of the following things:
- Cyclos, are in itself a reflection of Vietnam's heritage.
- Cyclos can take you to every nook and corner of Hue.
- Instead of whizzing past interesting sights, you can actually observe them at ease.
- Its slower place makes it easier to take photographs.
- They are very convenient for short distances in such a small city like Hue.
- Most importantly they are cheaper and MORE FRIENDLY WITH ENVIRONMENT than the other means of transport.
Besides, cyclo drivers here know a lot of interesting, truthful stories about Hue’s everyday life and people and always feel free to share with tourists. They drive cyclos to earn their living, but we can see their pleasure, their enjoyment when using cyclo. As Phuong, a cyclo driver and also a poet wrote:
