    Jim Corbett National Park is one of the most preferred places for adventurers and wildlife lovers. The park was established in 1936 and was named after the hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett and is located at Nanital, Uttarakhand. This is one of the oldest parks in India and is known for sheltering Bengal tigers. Additionally the park is also housing nearly 110 varieties of trees, 50 mammal breeds, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species, in the widespread area of approximately 520.8 km2 (201.1 sq mi). Besides wildlife creatures, it also comprises of hills, river belts, muddy depressions, grasslands and a large lake.

    Jim Corbett National Park can be enjoyed most between February to May.
    What to Do in Jim Corbett National Park
    There are several adventurous activities available at the place such as river rafting, rock climbing, elephant safari, jeep safari, horse ridding and nature walk. Elephant and jeep safari are the best ways to experience wildlife in the park. There are some denser forest areas like Bijrani, Jhirna, Sitabani and Durgadevi, which can be explored with a ride on jeep. No one should miss out Elephant ride at Garjia. It is a must-do activity in Corbet.

    By Air:
    The nearest airport is at Phoolbagh, Pantnagar, which is nearly 50 kms from the park. Moreover, the nearest international airport is at Delhi, which is about the distance of 300 Km.
    By Train:
    Nearest railway station is at Ramnagar. The place is well connected with road transport towards Corbet national park.
    By Road:
    Park is well connected to populated cities through roadways. Good number of State Transport buses and private coaches are available from places like Dhikala (51 kms from Ramnagar), ranikhet (62 kms), Nainital (100 kms), Rishikesh (220 kms) and Delhi (300 kms).
    Accommodation:

    Park is surrounded by Rest houses, few hotels. There are several staying options available in close vicinity at Ramnagar, Ranikhet and borders of the park.
