Thailand is an lovely country! I have been there several times.Thanks for the site greenhousebkk.com I spent less money and less time for looking for an appartment to stay in. You can find International restaurant, where you can taste traditional Thai dishes. There is and a web café, so you can stay in contact together with your fiends and relatives. I spent my time greatly! Enjoy your stay in Thailand !

I went to Thailand last year. I must say that the country does have friendly-people, a lot of leisure activities to attend to, and the food is really good. I plan to go there again by the end of this year.

I'm from Manchester, England. I wanted to see Thailand since a friend talked to me about her visit there. Can't wait to see what you have to offer.

When did this happen? And what kind of stuff?

Yes silly rumours, there is corruption in Thailand same as most counties although others are better at hiding it, I heard the airport scam where they accused someone of stealing, when they were accused they said it was planted but actually they tried to steel it but hay ho.
As for tips, Taxi's, ask the driver before you get in, can use meter, if he say no then move onto next one, always be polite and smile, a smile will always be well accepted, baht buses in Pattaya, on thier normal route if you go 50 feet or 500 yards what ever is 10 baht, always try to have a few 10's on you, if you ask them how much they will probably tell you 50 baht or similar, if your asking one to go to a curtain place he will offer you a price, its often more than the real price, a tourist thing you see, its not corruption its their way of doing business, you can barter them down a little but again always polite.

Drink plenty of water and at least once a day but an electrolyte supplement add it to the water, all good minerals etc, fruit is so very cheap off the carts so take advantage of it, I eat at least 3 portions a day, the more you are working your body the more water and fruit, talk to other tourists, don't be shy, ask guys who look as though they are familiar with the place you will gain a lot of valuable info from them and normally they are quick to offer advice, the first time I came here to Pattaya I stayed at a well known guest house in Pattaya after reading many good things about it and made a few good friends and half the battle was won with the info I received, the venue (Canterbury Tales Cafe) also has a huge bookshop with all the lonely planet guides on Thailand so I found that a cheap way of doing it as well as the highly recommended Private Dancer by Stephen Leather and Money number one, which gives you a heads up on the night-life in town.
All in all Pattaya and Thailand is a beautiful country and more so once you know the way of things.

Did anyone mention the great Golf here in Thailand, there are 26 courses within one hour of Pattaya for example and superb mostly, green fee average about 700 baht but there are some cheaper, you have a caddie who takes care of everything and has the course knowledge, caddie fee about 250 baht then a tip normally same.
You can hire a cart/buggie and 2 golfers normally 250 baht each although some of the posher courses insist on one person per cart so 500/600 each, the high end courses can be 2000 baht up so varied but plenty of good courses all in for 1500 baht, about 30 quid in English money.
