    Default Spanish Cuisine

The real globetrotters are those who try the local cuisine of the cities they traveled to. One traveler would not be disappointed to find the taste of paella and tapas even in a cheap Barcelona hotel. Wines from all over Spain are also available as long as you ask where to look for them. The culture in this city is to hop from one place to another to taste each place’s delicacy. Try to follow the link for useful information of hotels or guides for traveling and food in Barcelona. But if you are first time traveler it would help a lot and is practical if you hire a travel guide or you know some one there. Food in this place is delicious (as one friend commented) besides the traditional Spanish dishes.

The Spanish love their vegetables, almost as much as meat which takes first priority. Where steaming/boiling them is common in northern Europe and most of the western world, the typical preparation method here would be sautéing them lightly first then adding small amounts of water or caldo (broth) to keep them from scorching. Unfortunately, vegetables are still preferred the old fashioned way - very well done (overcooked according to French or Italian standards). All food is well salted.
