It also has areas with Maya ruins, and that fact is what makes me want to visit there. I always was fascinated about the Maya Indians, and would love to go there and see the ruins.

It has the most active nightlife scene of all Mexican cities. You can have lots of options. For those who love dancing, they also have lots of dance clubs. Mexico city is the city for party lover. That's why I am willing to visit their someday.

Britjojo, we recently visited Tulum and Coba -- both nice ruins. I understand why you are enticed by Mayan ruins. It is so interesting to hear how these civilizations flourished and to see the remains. I can't even imagine living back in those times. What 'remains' will people find and judge us by in the future?

In addition to the Mayan ruins in Mexico, have you considered visiting Joya de Ceren and San Andres Archeological sites in El Salvador? The Joya de Ceren is the most important archeological site in the country -- and was recently listed as one of the most important ancient cities in the Americas by the Travel Channel! It was discovered accidentally in 1976. The site shows a small pre-Columbian village with a domestic style that gives insight into the daily way of life of the Pipil Tribe. It is believed that the village was destroyed in 590 A.D. by the eruption of Cadera Volcano.
Not only are these sites fascinating, but the chance to hike the nearby volcanoes, visit artisan communities, and enjoy other beautiful places in El Salvador makes the trip very worthwhile. Hope you get to visit Mexico and El Salvador in your near future.

Mexico, a colorful land of superb natural settings, is the geographical nexus between Central and North America. Thus this has an effect on the variety of its natural scenarios, presenting deserts, forests, valleys of greenness, mountainous zones, tropical coasts, in short, almost all the landscapes on the planet.
