India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second-most populous country, and the largest democracy in the world.It is bordered by Pakistan to the west; China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east; and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Indonesia in the Indian Ocean.

Four major world religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism originated there, while Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam arrived in the first millennium CE and shaped the region's diverse culture.

India is a republic consisting of more than 28 states and seven union territories with a parliamentary system of democracy. It has the world's twelfth largest economy at market exchange rates and the fourth largest in purchasing power.

Since its independence in 1947, India has maintained cordial relationships with most nations. It took a leading role in the 1950s by advocating the independence of European colonies in Africa and Asia. India was involved in two brief military interventions in neighboring countries - Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka and Operation Cactus in Maldives. India is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Inspite of recent terror attacks and their loosing innocent dear ones, people are living with same bravery with firm determination to fight out the terrorism. The best examples of this mission are Oberoi and Taj hotels in Mumbai. Bravo-Indians!

Ha ha ha ... are you making fun of Indians ? Its a fact that we have invented some cool stuff like the concept of '0' in mathematics and stuff. But basically our culture revolved around arts and spirituality. Nothing to boast about though.
