Default Going to egypt - 08-26-2007, 10:59 PM

My ex girlfriend and I went to egypt ones, it was a rather hot vacation. Worked out fine as we were a couple and we had a great time together. I wouldnt recommend it to somebody else. Going alone is out of the question

Why would going alone be out of the question? Is it really THAT dangerous?

Egypt is a country of contrast. The tourist area’s can be fantastic, but a lot of the locals are living below the general accepted poverty line.

That said I found it fantastic and I had both good and bad experiences.

First off I would advise that if you have any interest in history, go. There is nowhere in the world like it. You just can’t argue with 7,000 years of civilisation!

On the other hand be prepared to be harassed, and followed, by the locals trying to sell everything and anything to you. They don’t understand personal space and they don’t take no for an answer.

Default Egypt is just like everywhere, there is the good and the bad - 09-14-2007, 02:49 PM

Hello everybody,

I think those who travel to different parts of the world know that everywhere there is the good and the bad, and going to another part of the world means expecting another culture and lifestyle, so nowhere is 100 % fantastic.

I have been to many countries, for example Germany, Austria, England and Ireland, let me tell you I was nearly attacked a couple of times, and nearly ripped off another couple of times, but if somebody asks me how it was there, my answer is it was 99% great, because I did have wonderful experiences in these countries.

As for some traders here , not all, following tourists to sell them stuff, this happens in some parts, and not all parts, of Egypt, but it still happens in many parts of many other countries, and most of them here when they hear the word "No thank you", they just leave you alone.

Egypt has many great monuments, pyramids, temples, tombs, etc., but Egypt has also long beaches on the Red Sea,where you can have a typicl holiday, Egypt has the Nile, where you can have such a wonderful cruise with a great atmosphere.

So if you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me any time, either here or e-mail me: aladdinofegypt@gmail.com

I loved Egypt - it was fantastic - just that it had its downfalls, just like anywhere like anywhere else!

I never been to egypt myself. It does a seem like a place where i'd like to go in the future. I do not really like hot climates though, but if i have to be there, i will be there. Epypt sounds like a great place to visit. I would like to see the pyramids of egypt though.
