    Default Palace Museum in Taiwan

The Palace Museum, former known as the Sun Yet-Sen Museum, is located at Double Brooks outside of Shilin of Taipei City ,Taiwan Province. Built along mountains, is a palace style architecture, which was constructed in accordance with the design of Beijing Forbidden City, with red railing and green glazed tile, solemn and magnificent.

The memorial archway and short steps straight ahead of it look elegant and refreshing. Standing on the big watching stand in front of the courtyard to look around the whole building, one feels as if he were inside the Beijing Forbidden City, and the scenery of the grand and magnificent mountains covered by thick forests closely linked with the building, makes one feel standing at the foot of Nanjing Purple Mountain as well.

Constructed in 1965, the Palace Museum is equipped with world first class modern facilities and a great number of collections of national treasures in Chinese history. Among which there are 250 thousand pieces of historical relics formerly kept in Beijing Forbidden city and Nanjing Central Museum, and articles received one after another through donation, collection and purchase. Now the total number is nearly 700 thousand.

The Zhishan (Utmost Virtue) Garden to the east of the Museum is a park modelled after Song-Ming Dynesty-style courtyard, is an elegant resting place too.

The National Palace Museum houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5,000-year history. Most of the museum's 620,000 art objects were part of the Chinese imperial collection, which began over 1,000 years ago in the early Song dynasty.
