Default China Shopping Spree Shops - 12-12-2007, 06:58 PM

Do you love to shop? Then surely, you can’t let a day pass in China without visiting the local souvenir stands.

Spending a couple of days in the cities of China will all be worth the experience. Not only that you get a close look at the country’s hottest tourist spots but also, by simply observing the people around you, you get to learn the typical Chinese culture and tradition. Now why will you leave China empty-handed? Don’t you want to take home souvenirs from the country that you’ve recently visited? Shopping in China is interesting, fun, and exciting. With all the shopping outlets there, you’ll definitely enjoy every single Chinese item for sale.

Also, many hotels in China house their very own shopping centre so there is no need for you to go out of the vicinity. Local products are available both in the commercial shopping sites as well as in the ordinary souvenir stands. As a tip, bargaining is much applicable when you shop from the souvenir stands rather than from the warehouses and other commercial shopping avenues

Where to Shop?

Start out with the friendship stores. These are the shopping outlets which are devoted to serving foreigners like you. All sorts of Chinese products are made available in the friendship stores and among of which are the pieces of silver, gold, jade, and pearl jewellery, the embellished blouses and tablecloth, porcelain, painting, handicrafts, pottery, and a lot more. Name it and the friendship stores have it!

Goods sold in friendship stores are guaranteed to be all quality products. As a foreigner, don’t be hesitant to bargain! Most of the times, the prices are marked up higher than the local souvenir shops but then their products are totally authentic, so to speak.

Another great place for you to shop is the department store. Your everyday need is provided by the department stores. However, you can’t bargain with these shopping centres. It will be wise to watch out for sales.

Then, you can always go to the markets! Spend time in observing how Chinese people manage to purchase their provisions. By observing them, you will be able to pick out efficient shopping tips. Plus, you can always bargain with the vendors.

Of course, there are the factories in China. When buying in bulks, proceed to the factories. They offer great discounts! Mind you, the factories are the best sources of artwork items.

Come to China and feel the freedom to shop. It always pays off to know where to start your shopping spree!
