Default What's your worst travel experience?

What's your worst travel experience ever?

A trip can easily be ruined if the luggage doesn't come where it is supposed to.

Getting sick from food is another thing that can ruin your holiday.

Tell us a little about your worst travel memory.

Which country did you travel to and why was it so bad?

Mexico , June 2002, it was my honeymoon.

We flew into cancun airport, got off the plane, and waited for about 3 hours in line for customs. It was horrible for me because it was the first time I ever flew and went somewhere so far.

The rest of the trip wasn't so bad. Only exception was the air conditioning wasn't that great in the room.

Cambodia - 2004. I never see so poor people and children - The image of a poor girl or boy age 7-12, holding a baby sister or brother on their hip is a very common sight in Cambodia.....that make me sad.

Cambodia today is one of the poorest countries in the world because of more than two decades of isolation.

I travel several places around the world and my all trips were outstanding. But one trip I never ever forgot that I visited to London one day I went from my hotel to restaurant I felt that 2 peoples were chasing me and I was scared because I had lots of money and mobile in my pocket, suddenly they caught me and snatch my money and mobile that was my worst tour ever.

i had a similar experience, a guy chased me down a street in madrid, i stupidly ran down an alley which meant we were isolated and he cut my handbag off my shoulder (like cut the straps so i couldnt grab it back) and ran.
i lost everything, i have since been recommended a life pouch (i think thats what theyre called) i got mine from Twenga - US Price comparison site, shopping guides, user reviews and its great- like a thing bum bag that you wear under your clothes for things like passports and cash, it means that you can just keep things you dont mind losing in your handbag, really recommended to anyone travelling, especially if youre travelling alone...

My worst travel experience is that when I and my friend travel unorganized...

We don;t know were to stay in and lost in the foreign place...We can't even understand people language there...And that serve as lesson to us...I better to have a travel guide when traveling...^_^

Being stranded or kept waiting under a stormy sky because your plane can't land properly out of that bad weather. Also when your captain decided to just go back where you came from.

Mine it's a pretty quick lonng but here it goes.......

I went to what I thought was my gate, and waited for them to call my boarding class. When the line died down I walked up to the ticketing area, gave them my ticket, they ‘scanned’ it, and gave me back my half.

I then got on the plane and off we went. About a half hour into the flight I looked down at the landscape and thought it looked a little odd. I took my ticket out and the lady next to me looked at it and said, “That’s not good, this flight is going to New York.”

I couldn’t believe it! How was I able to get on this flight? They took my ticket and supposedly scanned it but still let me on the flight.

I guess where I got confused was the fact that there was a gate 9 and 9a and they were both leaving at 1 p.m. I didn’t even think twice about it. Also, the ladies next to me said that it was weird how they never mentioned that we were taking off to New York, like they usually do. It was a string of unfortunate events.

No kidding. The gate agents on JetBlue flight 96 apparently failed to review Watkins’ boarding pass and they didn’t make a post-boarding announcement that the plane was going to New York. Here’s what happened next.

I finally got to New York that at 10 p.m., but there were no returning flights to the West Coast so I had to stay the night and catch a flight the next morning.

I was so sad. I had taken the weekend off of work to make this trip happen, missed seeing my godson, missed my best friend’s surprise engagement party and had to pay for a $200 dollar taxi ride from Long Beach to Malibu because I no longer had a ride.

When I called Jet Blue to see if they could do something to make me feel a little better about the experience they said they had already done everything they would and that it was human error and they were no longer responsible. The supervisor I spoke with was very condescending and rude.

I just don’t understand how I was able to get on a flight I didn’t belong on. With all the extra security travelers go through these days, how was it that I was able to get a flight I didn’t have a ticket to?
