Default Do you Backup your travel pics?

Once back from my two month trip from Morocco I am happy to enjoy my family, my friends and the comforts at home. However, as a photographer, after working abroad where you can not be as cautious and organized as when you are at home, I am very pleased to know that I did not loose any files and I have them here ready to be edited.

For a photographer (and I include here professionals and no professionals) being careful and organized with your gear is a key aspect. But when you are away, is probably along with your safety the most important priority. Gear is relatively easy to replace, but pictures you have taken are UNIQUE and could have a tremendous sentimental and economical value. I am talking from my own experience as few years ago, during one of my trips I lost my camera and the pictures within as it went “diving” into the sea just because I was not putting attention to what was going on around me while looking through the camera viewer.

I am sure most of you have your own method to keep your files safe while you are away, but in this post I would like to mention mine which some of you might find it helpful.

Nowadays, most of people are carrying a laptop, but in some of my long trips where I was working on a personal project and no having a deadline, I have decided not to take one with me. Maybe just for the fact of traveling light or because expecting a rough trip, I already had too many things to worry about.

Now what I do is use an online backup to secure my pics with ZenOK Online Backup and Keep track of all places and dates and relate them with the folders you create in your card back up device.

and you do you backup your pics??

    whats the best method?

I definitely do backup photos, among other data. Better be safe than sorry.
