Alaska is part of north america, but is there much tourism?
The only thing I know about Alaska is that there is very cold.
Anybody else knows more ?

Honestly this is the comedy part of the country so far as TV is concerned. It is so much maligned that I haven't so much as looked at it regarding travel.

Well, you made me curious and so I went looking at what Alaska has to offer for a vacation. I take back my previous statement! Wow, it looks awesome, and I have really changed my opinion. Take a look here;

I have some friends who live there. They say it is underrated and quite a nice place to live (except the cold and expense of food.)
I wonder what it is that makes food so expensive. I guess that most would have to be imported, as the conditions would not exactly be great for growing your own.
The distance and isolation causes importing to be very expensive. Gas costs, travel, etc.
If you like snow and want to have a great winter you can go on Nantucket Island. There is great snow and for the winter holidays a lot of people go there. Check this out to see how is winter on Nantucket.
Nantucket Island Resort
I hope to see you there!!!
Hmm, I didn't know Alaska was that expensive. How many people populated??
but you gotta admit that it is a good place, skiiiiiiiiiiiii!
