I agree that Israel is a very interesting destination, I would recommend very much to use it as a stop on your way to other countries in the M. east...

Israel is a great place with a strong cultural identity, but with the conflict in recent years i would be wary of visiting.
having said that i'm sure that booking with an approved travel agency would be fine

The conflict in Israel is actually limited only to the borders and the Gaza Strip. The rest of the country is still pretty much a good place to visit. However, you still need to be prepared when going here.

I totally agree that Israel is a great vacation destination, you can find everything you want here: great beaches, historical and holy sites, varaity of food. And one more thing the largest natural spa in the world is also here, i'm talking about the Dead sea, the finalist for a spot in the new7wonders compitition.

There is a civil war going on in Israel. For last several years. So if you are planning to travel to Israel the security and safety would be top on your list. Apart from this no doubts Israel is a very nice and beautiful country.
