The US Consulate in Jeddah has processed a record number of USA visa applications this year and has recently celebrated its “for the books” achievement. The Consulate has issued 25,000 visas since the beginning of 2012 none of which are online ESTA Visas. As Saudi nationals have not been approved for the US Visa Waiver Program they must apply for the normal US visa application.
US Consul General Anne Casper said that this is a record high for the consulate in Jeddah. The Consulate General believes the record achievement reflects the partnership between the US and Saudi Arabia. She confirmed that they are constantly re assessing the travel, business and student US visa application program so as they are finalized as soon as possible.
