In order to connect the remote hilly areas of North East India, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is developing airports at Daparizo in Arunachal Pradesh, Tura in Meghalaya and Kamalpur in Tripura for operation of ATR 42/ATR 72 type of aircraft, informed K C Venugopal, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Government of India, at the Rajya Sabha recently. AAI is also developing civil enclaves at Along, Pasighat and Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh, and Rupsi in Assam.
