I'm definitely a movie, then book person.
Obviously movies can't go into as much detail as a book, and if I read the book first I'm pretty likely to be disappointed with the movie.
The book/movie which was the decider on this for me was 'The Power of One' by Bryce Courtney. Loved the book, the movie just seemed full of holes after reading it though :-(
