Alicante is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. Situated on the costa Blanca, Alicante is a favourite with the tourists as well as locals. The city is a wonderful blend of the traditional and modern and you can savour the regions rich past here and enjoy shopping in some of the trendiest malls at the same time. The lovely sunny weather year round and mild winters has made it a favourite among tourists from northern Europe. Its miles long golden coastline features lovely beaches are superb, with fine, white sand and all the modern facilities and

There is everything to please the modern tourist in Alicante- superb golf courses, lively nightlife, a picturesque harbour, and the ancient Castle of Santa Barbara towering above the city skyline. There is no dearth of picturesque sites in Alicante whether in the charming city centre, the beaches or the surrounding mountains and countryside.

The quintessential historic quarter is at the foot of this fortress, and within this old district is a plethora of religious and civil architectural legacy. The latest addition to the legacy of Alicante is the magnificent Explanada de Espana- the beautiful seaside promenade that is a recreational centre for both locals and tourists. Alicante is also a land of deeply rooted traditions, such as the Moors and Christians festivities and the Night of San Juan. When it comes to Alicante's delicious cuisine, rice takes the central stage, cooked in a million different ways.

Alicante is a modern working town, and has always been a prosperous town, both for the rich fishing and the market gardens of the fertile plain inland of it.
There are quite a few interesting museums worth a visit in Alicante. The provincial archaeological museum, the MARQ, is a museum with a varied collection to interest visitors. There are three rooms dedicated to the art of excavation, including underwater archaeology. The most important exhibits are in the Iberian (pre-Roman) room.
The CAPA collection of Spanish contemporary sculpture museum is inside the castle of Santa Barbara with works dating from the 19th and 20th century.
Apart from these, there is the Gravina Fine Arts Museum, and the University Museum.

Apart from these the various fiestas in Alicante fill the city with celebrations, music, and colour. Sa Juan is the most important festival here, and every year from the 20th to 29th June, the city sees nights of bonfires and fireworks- especially on the Playa de San Juan.

The nightlife scene in Alicante leaves nothing to be desired. There are innumerable ways and locations in Alicante where you can party late into the night. The Barrio Santa Cruz is a centre for young people and full of pubs, late-night bars with music, C/ San Fernando is the place to go for discotheques. The Explanada de Espana is lively, and the marina has a large number of different kinds of bars and pubs. In the summer, the nightlife centre of gravity shifts to the Playa San Juan

Car hire in Alicante is the easiest way to move around its many beautiful and worth visiting locations. There are many local companies offering car hire at reasonable rates. You will find the desks of all major car rental companies operating at Alicante airport which can be accessed from within the arrival area or from outside. It is advisable to book your car in advance, through the internet, with a reputed car hire company operating in the region. There should be a pad lock symbol at the bottom of the browser, which ensures that the web page is secured. Any reputed car hire website will have a SSL (an internet feature that protects your online transactions from consumer fraud).

It is always wise to make transactions with your credit cards if doing a on the spot car booking, or making some additional payments; it simply reduces the chances of fraud and is cheaper.

I must agree with you but also Barcelona is nice one to visit, in my opinion. Its museums, theatres, art galleries and nightlife are of an impressive high standard. Besides that, this art and design centre has a lot of interesting sights to offer to its visitors. I have been in there in September and I saw great festival. It was amazing
Festes de la Mercè. Barcelona's main annual festival around the 24th of September, encompassing many events such as which group of 'castellers' can form the highest human tower, live music events, firework displays and processions involving wooden giants. All of this is accompanied by a heavy consumption of Cava, the national drink of Catalonia.

This is the best car rental reservations before your vacation to ensure you get the best price. In addition, according to your travel time, this is a good idea, pre-arranged a car ahead, to make sure you have one when you arrive. Especially in the summer, this is peak season in Alicante, you will find rental stock flies.

When you land at the airport in Alicante, you will find several different car rental companies to choose from, including global names such as Avis and Hertz, regional companies, such as Auriga and Centuaro. They are easily accessible from the arrival area.
