Cool Adventure travel options in El Salvador - 03-10-2008, 05:29 PM

I recently experienced a volcanic lake SCUBA adventure in El Salvador. My husband loves adventure travel and tried SCUBA diving while we were on a cruise one time. SCUBA diving scares me and I never thought I would give it a try -- but I am sure glad I did while in El Salvador. I also went zip lining there for the first time and I am scared to death of heights! I loved every minute of it and ended up going again on our recent trip to Mexico -- but it was not nearly as cool and the trip in Apaneca El Salvador. I used to love just spending my time on the beach reading books and enjoying the local drinks! Thanks to my husband, I am now hooked on adventure travel!

I must say that it was the trekking to the top of mountain Kebnekaise in Sweden. It's actually the highest mountain in Sweden, but it's quite easy to reach.

You could go to Belize. It is in Central America. Cost is very cheap. You could tour the rain forest and the country side in a jeep - go to the mayan ruins and then spend the rest of the vacation on a 4 mile island called Caye Caulker. The cost of a hotel there is $40.00 a night, the food is delicious fresh and cheap. They speak English and use American money. Doesn't get much better than that!
