New Plymouth is vying to win the title of the best place in the world to live in. The Taranaki city is one of nine ,with population of between 20,001 and 75,000, shortlisted in the International Awards for Liveable Communities.New Plymouth comes up against competition from Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, England, Poland and China.
